I think the most important point is always to practice the father of the bride speech as many times as possible. Repeated practice can only help you deliver it perfectly. Even if you supposed to be a really good orator you must plan for your father of the bride speech and rehearse it until you are happy with it.

my name is Tim and I would like to say that being a father myself to a bride and also a groom( my son first and then my daughter second), and after attending a few wedding myself over the years. I have seen a few good ones and a few not-so-good ones. Now this would include the wedding speeches/toasts also. At that time in my life there was no internet around and finding a good wedding speech /toast was just about impossible let alone knowing how to write one if you wanted to give one. Well, thank God for the internet and the information age. Now all the information you or anybody else wants can be found on the net, including wedding speeches/toasts. Heck I could have given a better speech if I had known about these insights and tips into giving a good fatherly speech/toast.

A useful tip when making the best man speech is to use a subtle mix of sincerity and humour. When considering humour is better to use one liners rather than long winded jokes. One liners can be used to grab attention and keep the audience interested. It is of course important to keep any humour child friendly and whatever you do, don't upset the bride!

This speech is great! Just as funny as a wedding speech should be. With a little more emotion and energy, it would be an ideal speech.

To get more feedback on wedding speeches, try Soapbox Guru. It is a site for people to help each other improve their speeches, and wedding speeches are usually the funniest, so check it out.

That's a nice step by step account for father of the bride speeches. I am the bride . . . my father requested me me to find him some good resources that would help him to get ready for his bride's father speech. I'm going to bookmark this site and let him know about it. I'm sure he's going to find it helpful.

My daughter is going to get married soon. I am trying to write the wedding speech as well as a toast I am expected to give during the reception. Do you have any example father of the bride speech somewhere posted on the website? By the way, you've got a few valuable information here in this blog.

I am going to plan my best friend's bachelorette party. She said it was ok to get a male stripper so I went to http://www.UltimateStallion.com (just in case you want to check him out, LOL) and hired him. Here's the problem... My husband doesn't like the idea of me going to a party where there is a male stripper. I can not attend because I am the maid of honor. I would like some opinions on what is the best way to handle this, or what I should do. Thanks in advance for your help!

Wedding speeches are real nerve raking experience unless you are well prepared for it. However, if you practice you can expect to deliver a decent speech even if you aren't a very good public speaker.

This speech by T. J ...
This speech by T. J. Donnelly was done at the Anatole Hotel in Dallas during his daughter Jennifer's wedding. He is the former General Manager of KPLX-FM (The Wolf) in Dallas which is a Country station. So, his first comments are directed at the Band....EMERALD CITY... to see if they might know some of his favorite country songs. The titles are REAL song titles. I am posting this because the audio is a little low in the opening of the video.
